As nutrition and food policy have gained momentum at the local, state and federal levels over the past ten years, the role of health professionals and nutritionists in the debate is critical to ensure a scientific evidence basis for policy making. For more than 20 years, N. Chapman Associates, Inc. has conducted a public policy seminar for nutrition graduate students at the School of Public Health, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. The seminar highlights current topics and trends in nutrition while conducting thought-provoking sessions with influential subject matter experts.
Nancy has presented workshops and lectures at state and national meetings of the Society for Nutrition Education and Behavior, and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She has also authored several chapters on nutrition policy in text books for public health nutrition students. The firm also organized a policy session on dietary supplements for the Office of Dietary Supplements annual workshop on Regulations of Dietary Guidelines.
